The Friends of St Philip’s

   French Day

on

Tuesday 25th June

A visiting theatre group will be performing a production entitled ‘Voulez Vous?’ for KS2 children while KS1 children will have a special French visitor.

All the children will take part in French language themed activities throughout the day and are asked to come dressed in red, white and blue.

At 2.30pm the Café St Philippe will open to parents.

Children from Year 6 will be serving a selection of French style refreshments in an almost Parisian style café….weather permitting there may even be a boules competition!

This promises to be an exciting day for the children, designed to show them that learning a new language can be fun.

We look forward to seeing you there

Hanover Band

On 6 June a number of  local schools, including a choir from St Philips, took part in a unique event at Arundel Cathedral. The Hanover Band and the South Downs choir performed several pieces of Baroque music and a piece espically composed for the occasion.

Year 6 art day

The Year 6 link governor, Mrs Johnstone, an experienced art teacher, came in for the day to work with Year 6 on a piece of artwork related to their ‘Go with the Flow’ topic.  The class spent part of the morning sketching around the pond in the school allotment. In the afternoon they looked at some of Monet’s ‘Waterlilies’ pictures and produced their own piece of work inspired by the French artist.
