A sporting week

Our older children have had a very busy week with lots of sporting activity. Our Year 5 and 6 netballers and footballers played well in a ‘Small schools tournament’ on Monday and a number of Year 5’s and 6’s enjoyed an indoor athletics event at the Littlehampton Academy on Tuesday. Everyone enjoyed themselves and all tried their best.

We had lots of lovely entrants in the Easter egg competition this week! Everyone who entered got a house point and there were prizes for the winners and runners up. Thank you to everyone who entered. A list of winners can be found on the latest newsletter which is due out tomorrow.eastereggs

Sport for Schools event 13 March 2015

We were proud to welcome 2014 Commonwealth Games triple jump finalist, Nathan Fox, to school on Friday 13 March. The event was organised by Sports for Schools and involved the whole school taking part in an exciting fitness circuit. Following the activities everyone gathered for an assembly, where they sat transfixed, listening to Nathan speak about his sporting experiences, the lessons he had learnt in life and encouraging people to follow their dreams. The assembly finished with a dynamic question and answer session.

After the event some Year 6 pupils commented that ‘Nathan has inspired us to work harder, to keep going and follow our dreams’

Sports for Schools have been running these popular sessions for eight years and besides hosting events to inspire more children to lead healthier, more active lives they also raise money for schools via sponsorship and support British athletes financially.fox3
