On Friday 18th November, the whole school came in dressed in spots and non-school uniform. The day raised over £150 which will go to BBC Children in need. As well as the £1 donation that each child made, Max in Year 4 brought in an amount of money that he had been collecting over the year with his grandparents which he got to present in assembly.
Last Friday. Year 5 and 6 took the Primary Maths Challenge It was a fun and exciting mathematical Challenge aimed at pupils in Year 5 & 6 in England and Wales. The Challenge is not designed to be just another test in the school year; it encourages enthusiasm, boosts confidence in mathematics and shows the different way questions can be asked.
Answering the questions does not depend on mathematical knowledge alone, but on the ability to think things through, be logical and find ways to solve problems. The challenge is designed to make pupils think outside the box. The questions asked are not necessarily subjects that have been covered in the curriculum by this time but the questions can create a great starting point and lead to discussions later in the year.
All children took part, with every child receiving a certificate.
