Four of our students attended an able writers course at Arundel Church of England school this week. A number of local schools were involved and the sessions were led by Brian Moses, a well-known children’s poet.
On Thursday, we were lucky enough to be joined by Marie-Helene from CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) for a special assembly. She explained to the children all about ‘World Gifts’ – a way of raising funds to support people who live in developing countries.
Aoife in Year 4 thought it would be a good idea for St Philip’s to raise money to provide a community with a camel. (Aoife’s favorite animal!) It costs £400. We are currently in the process of organising a sponsored walk to help raise funds. We will keep you updated on when this will be!
Many thanks to all those who attended the Spelling Workshop. It was such a useful opportunity to share with you the curriculum expectations of spellings and to have your support in implementing the strategies we are using at school.
Please find a copy of the spelling workshop leaflet in the ‘Documents’ page – this includes the spellings that are expected in each year group.
