Year 6 are currently reading the book The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. As part of the Art curriculum, they have made sculptures out of tin foil. The children had to work together as a team to build them and presented them to the class.
On Friday, the children at St Philip’s were lucky enough to receive a special assembly delivered by Roger Purdom. Roger is the retired pastor of Parkside Evangelical Church, Littlehampton. Before coming to Littlehampton, Mr Purdom had been a headmaster. Since retiring he is using his time to maintain and develop his Christian influence in local schools.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the children and families that have donated food towards our Harvest Festival this year. Fantastic generosity has been shown and we have managed to gather a large amount of really good quality food produce to help elderly people in our local community. On Thursday, we celebrated the gifts as part of our celebration assembly where we gave thanks and sang Harvest songs. Thank you again to all who have donated.
To celebrate Grandparent week, the Grandparents of the pupils at St Philip’s joined us for afternoon tea in the hall. They had the opportunity to have tea and cake with their grandchildren. Thank you for everyone who attended and a special thank you to the mums and staff who helped serve the teas and coffees. It was a lovely afternoon that we will be doing again next year.
