This morning we celebrated our end of year Golden assembly. Mrs Horne shared the pupil’s many successes of the term including sporting achievements, music awards and attendance certificates. One child form each class was also chosen to receive a book from the ‘Mrs Sherlock Fund’. The children work very hard on their reading throughout the term to try and win. Thank you to all of the parents and staff who support the children in achieving their goals.
On Monday evening the Year 6 children performed their End of Year Presentation to their families in the school hall. The performance was intended to convey how grateful the children were to be part of St Philip’s Catholic Primary School.
They performed songs, drama and dance with many of the talented musicians playing the music. The performance also included a slide show of photographs showing all of the pupil’s memories of their time at school. A big thank you to Miss Robinson, Mrs Fairlie, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Townsend for helping to put the show together.
Last week our team of volunteer Reading Buddies were invited into school to share a cream tea. The Year 6 children served tea and scones and Reception Class bought thank you cards to thank them for all of their hard work over the year.
If you are interested in becoming a Reading Buddy please let the office know as any volunteers are very much appreciated!
On Friday, the children in Year 3,4,5 and 6 took part in our annual Swimming Gala at The Lido. Reception Class, Year 1 and 2 came down as spectators. The children competed in a range of different races with all abilities taking part. They raced in their houses with Warrene as the overall winners. Thank you to the parents who helped to walk the children down to the Lido and well done to the children for their good behaviour and great team spirit!
