Canon David’s Reflection on the Solemnity of the Ascension

Dear Parents,
Below is a reflection from Canon David on the Solemnity of the Ascension.

There is no live stream Mass from the Cathedral today, but there is a Mass for NHS and Social Care Workers streaming from Shrewsbury Cathedral at 7pm

There are also many other parishes in our diocese and beyond who live stream, see either the Diocesan website under ‘latest news’ at or

CAFOD’s Sunday Children’s Liturgy

Children’s liturgy

Prayers and resources for children’s liturgy catechists.

While we cannot gather together in person due to coronavirus, we can still come together as a community through prayer.

Virtual children’s liturgy

Join Bronagh, Eileen and Martin at 10am this Sunday for CAFOD’s next virtual children’s liturgy. Once you have registered you will be signed up for the next 12 sessions. If you can’t join live, a recording will be available to watch afterwards.

This week, Tommy from Year 1 is featured in the liturgy for his charity CAFOD bike ride.

Tommy’s Charity Bike Ride

Last week, Tommy in Year 1 learnt to ride his bike without stabilisers last and woke up the next day asking if he could ride his bike to raise money for people in need.

He’s now decided to ride 2.6 miles across 2/3 days next week and is fundraising for CAFOD (his choice!) because he “wants to make sad people happy”.

He initially set his goal at £200 and surpassed that in less than a day! He’s now got £545 in donations! He’s so pleased that he is able to give something back with his new skill and is even going to be featured on the CAFOD children’s liturgy webinar this Sunday.

Here is his JustGiving page if you wanted to find out more about CAFOD and how to donate.
