5k Camel Trek for CAFOD

On the last day of Half Term, all of the children in Key Stage 2 took part in a 5K Camel Trek. The plan was to raise £400 for CAFOD so that we could buy a camel for a family in Ethiopia.

We set off from St Philip’s after lunch and headed towards Hiorne tower, down into the park towards Swanbourne lake, and back up to the school through the High Street. The children managed the walk in just over an hour! The children were then greeted back at the school by the Key Stage One children who had come to school in non-school uniform to raise funds.

As the count stands, we have raised over £800 for CAFOD which means we can in fact buy TWO camels! A huge thank you to all the parents, gandparents, staff and helpers who came of the walk and a special thank you to Aoife  and her family for coming up with the idea and doing so much of the organising!
