Fairtrade Fortnight Trading Game

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight Year 5 took part in a trading game. Each group were given a selection of resources, which  allowed them to answer some maths questions. For each correct answer the World Bank would pay them some money.  However, what they soon discovered was that the resources were not fairly distributed, which resulted in some groups having to work extra hard in order to make any money at all. There was much frustration and excitement ( not to mention lots of noise!) and hopefully an appreciation of how some countries needed some help in order to even get started with their trading.
